English Exam Preparation
Sunshine Coast English can help to prepare you for any of the following exams: IELTS, TOEFL, CLBPT, CELBAN, CELPIP, or any language test which tests reading, writing, speaking and listening skills in English. This can be done face to face in private or semi-private sessions, small class groups in our virtual classroom.
IELTS
IELTS, the International English Language Testing System, is designed to assess the language ability of candidates who need to study or work where English is used as the language of communication. IELTS is required for entry into many universities in Canada, the UK and other countries. It is also a language benchmark test used to measure English proficiency for those wishing to immigrate to Canada. You can choose between the Academic or General Training versions of the test. All candidates do the same Listening and Speaking sections.

TOEFL
The TOEFL, Test of English as a Foreign Language, is a widely respected English-language test in the world, recognized by more than 9,000 colleges, universities and agencies in more than 130 countries, including Australia, Canada, the U.K. and the United States.

Canadian Language Benchmarks Placement Test (CLBPT)
The CLBPT test is a used to place learners, new immigrants to Canada, into government sponsored English as a second language classes, formerly known as LINC, but now referred to as ELSA. There are twelve levels, which are further subdivided into 3 stages. Stage 1 Basic Proficiency (levels 1-4), Stage 2 Intermediate Proficiency (levels 5-8) Stage 3 Advanced Proficiency (levels 9-12). This test is also used by Canadian colleges and universities to assess eligibility to apply for certain programs of study. Please note that the last CLB placement test will be on May 16, 2016. After that, assessment will be based on in-class work and assignments. This form of assessment is called Portfolio-Based Assessment.

Canadian English Language Benchmark Assessment for Nurses (CELBAN)
The CELBAN test is a language test that assesses proficiency within real-world health care scenarios. It evaluates proficiency in listening, writing, reading and speaking and is recognised as proof of language proficiency by all Canadian nursing regulators. The test consists of 4 parts. The first part tests listening, writing and reading and it lasts 3 hours. The second part is the speaking test, which involves roles plays and discussion and it lasts 20-30 minutes. The Canadian English Language Proficiency Index Program (CELPIP)
The CELPIP is an English language proficiency test designated by Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada (IRCC) for permanent resident status in Canada and Canadian citizenship. There are two versions of the CELPIP Test: the CELPIP-General Test and the CELPIP-General LS Test. The CELPIP-General Test assesses functional Listening, Reading, Writing, and Speaking skills, and is accepted by IRCC as proof of English language proficiency for permanent residency in Canada. The CELPIP-General LS Test assesses functional Listening and Speaking proficiency, and is accepted by IRCC as proof of English language proficiency for Canadian citizenship.
